At first I thought it was a fan delay feature but I don't think that's it. I am able to turn on the AC but the fans do not kick in. From other posts I assumed the blue wire is the common and it worked to power up the thermostat. Unfortunately the Trane units don't have a control board, just relays and wire taps. I do not remember how it was connected there, but I assume only 2 wires as the green was not connected at the handler.Īs per Ecobee (above article) you can repurpose the green wire for C and that is what I was trying to do especially since mine was not in use. The AC worked fine with the basic thermostat before it was removed and trashed. The thermostat wire has 3 wires but only 2 were connected at the air handler, the green wire was just wrapped around the base of the wires. ![]() I was running the thermostat in heat only mode all winter because the A/C side did not have a C connection and Ecobee requires the power to come from the cooling side but it is able to run both cooling and heating in one thermostat. I recently moved into a new home with a Trade central A/C unit and a water boiler baseboard heating system. How could power outage influence battery powered t-stat, is beyond me.ĭon't waste time Googling this, I did it for 4 last days. As, from what I see, receiver is bad as, it is the only piece of electronics in the kit that was, actually, wire powered. But, before I fork for it, as heat wave is around the corner, is there anything else I can do? I don't really want to call in installer, pay him $100 just for him to tell me "you need new kit". In our case, it is blank and pressing buttons does not produce and results. You will notice that, outta da box, display actually shows some data on it and shows Connect command. Hence, power outage, theoretically, should not affected it. MHK! is not wired, it is remote wifi control via receiver only. Display DOES NOT show anything else, no temperature, no "connect" or else. If any button is pressed, display lights up. ![]() MHK1 has blank display, with only no signal blinking and wait messages. pressing reset button results in connection button blinking but, that's it.ĥ. receiver has power to it, at least, power light is on.Ĥ. multiple resets done from WIFI receiver.ģ. complete power down and res tart of the entire system from main panel.Ģ. ![]() Their controllers, hand held, also work fine. Yet, thereafter, MHK1 ceiling unit controller does not connect to receiver.īoth wall mount units work fine.
